DAILP Now the Digital Archive of Indigenous Language Persistance

Renaming DAILP

DAILP is now the Digital Archive of Indigenous Language Persistance! We found that our previous name, Digital Archive of American Indian Language Preservation and Perseverance, was too long and hard to remember. Our new name expands our focus beyond North American languages and fuses preservation and perserverance into one holistic concept: Language Persistance. These changes better reflect our vision to support indigenous languages outside of North America through the interaction of both preservation and perseverance work.

Expect more branding updates in the coming months.

Improvements to Word Details

We have just rolled out a word details pane, replacing the old word details popup. The new word details pane features pronunciation info, audio recordings, a breakdown of word parts (still with links to grammatical references), and notes about a word.

Introducing the Preferences Panel

One of the comments we hear the most often is that there is a lot of information on screen at once when looking at a document. We have started to address this problem by creating a settings panel, which can be accessed at any time by selecting the gear icon at the top right of the website. Here, you can choose what level of depth you want to see when looking at a document as well as whether you prefer seeing the Worcester phonetics or the simple phonetics we have used on the website to date. Look forward to much more customization options in the future!

Highlighting Our Sponsors

As a part of our larger efforts to address information overload across our website, we have moved our sponsor information to a new webpage. We also have added sponsor information at the bottom of the website.
